Netflix seems to be giving us hits back to back in different genres. From The Black Phone to The Gray Man.

Remove yourself from my personal space.

New quote leant. I will so use this on somebody soon.

Movie Synopsis

A CIA agent undercovers an dirty secret in the operations and takes it upon himself to do right by all who have been wrong. As you would expect, it’s always easier thought than done.

The Russo’s brothers keep impressing us with their movies. they have already proven themselves with Marvel, then when you add Extraction and now this, you just have to admire them.

Cast

Chris (Lloyd)

via Google

We all know I was going to start with him, right? For over a decade of his life, Chris gave us the brave hero good guy vibes, saving New York, and leading the Avengers into battle against nefarious forces. When he gave up his role as Cap, he insisted that he would like to play mean roles. Well, prayers answered.

Chris as a psychopath was fun to watch. He was so annoying and you just wanted to slap the shit out of his face.

Are you sure he has an accomplice?

Well. I didn’t tranq myself in the ass.

Lloyd’s knife skills is something that should keep everyone at bay. The way he flipped it and stabbed Six multiples times had me wincing at the amount of pain he must have been going through. Did he nail the bad guy psychotic role? Yes. Do I want to see him play this role in another movie? Hell, yes. Nice going, Chris. You mustn't always be the good guy to make an impact.

Ryan Gosling (Six)

via Google

Gosling seems to be back in the limelight.

We’re still expectant of his delivery on Barbie and this was so nice of him. Did anyone else remember Ryan Reynold’s Six from 6 Underground? Six gave the perfect killer nice guy attitude. Despite being loyal to the filed, he still has a conscience that won’t allow him get collateral damages in his line of work.

It’s just another Thursday

Are you okay?

I mean, my ego is a little bruised. I would also like an opportunity to save you. Not like I would want you to be in danger so that I can save you.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 Six was just a classic guy. Bruised ego and all. I love Gosling’s acting. The way he showed love for Claire and Fitz without also meaning to show love to them was cute. I know he’ll go out of his way to protect her. Se is now his and I pity whoever comes for her.

Ana de Armas ( Dani)

via Google

Dani was uninvolved until she became involved to the extent of risking her career to save Six. I wouldn’t say it was bad as it gave her a card to play in ensuring she didn’t lose her career and position. Ana is bad ass. Since Knives Out 1 we have gotten to see different shades of her. From being scared and almost timid in Knives Out 1. To being a seductive, unfaithful wife in Deep Water. To her stint as a bond girl in No Time To Die. And now her role as a badass CIA operative. She’s building a reputation for being able to play any role she is handed. I hope she keeps at this. I like how her skills in the movie weren’t “manified” or “womanified.” She did what an operative would do and did it well. That RPG running scene was hot as hell.

Rege-Jean Page (Carmichael)

via Google

There was a lot of burning in this movie from our duke, but it wasn’t the type you would expect. Like Evans, Rege was a bad guy. The most disgusting of them all whose dirty deeds was the center of the entire affair. His acting didn’t seem forced at all. I like it. Th emphasis on Harvard and how long it took him to attain his heights just showed his level of egoism and narcissism. I hate how he ended up with the drive. After everything they went through, they couldn’t think about duplicating and then decrypting it.

Honourable Mentions

via Google

Lone Wolf and Claire were good. Though I didn’t get how she allowed herself get caught by Lloyd after taking off his fingers. Nice touch by the way. It hurt me that Fitz had to die, but then again, the movie wasn’t trying to show a perfect happy ever after plot.

Lone Wolf’s fight scenes were so good. Mehn, he has perseverance. That scene were both he and Ana wanted to strangle the other was insane. It’s good he backed down and walked away. No one wants to kill an innocent girl-well, no one aside from crazy Lloyd.

The Plot

I say this with utmost honesty and love for the Russo brother, but there was nothing new in the plot. It was the regular CIA hires a person (Six), sets the person up, the person finds out they have been set up and decides to take on the CIA (Carmichael and Lloyd). In the quest to stop him, they go after all he holds there (Claire and Fitz). The hero saves his loved ones, saves the day and we all live happily ever after.

You’ve seen this plot a million times over, but what carried the movie was the fighting and acting of the cast. The train fight scenes and car drift sort of reminded me of Fast and Furious.

The only difference was that Six and Claire may just have bitten of more than they can chew because they will come for them. That ending feels like the beginning of many more sequels in the future. I had hope for some post credit scenes, but I guess this isn’t a Marvel thing after all.

It wasn’t and, but it wasn’t so out of this world. Enjoyable? Yes. Worth the time? Hell, yes. Will you laugh? Probably. But you’re sure of action and good lines, too.
