Movie Synopsis

A troubled couple going through a divorce encounters issue as the wife get kidnapped in broad daylight. It is left to the man to save his wife against all odds.

Let’s see. How do we do this?

First, I need to run a survey on builders in America. Are all builders fighters? Make it make sense please.

The movie kicks off with a bit of couple tension and we’re left for ourselves to figure out that they are having issues. It didn’t take that long, though. I figured it out when he acknowledged his satisfaction at her coming clean.

Ding dong! She cheated.

So, we get to the gas station and she gets kidnapped. I thought the white truck was involved in the kidnapping because the timing was so impeccable. Did anyone else wonder why she didn’t just wait for the guy to get the invoice from his car?

How does a builder have such a good fighting skill? First, he notices the camera. Okay, I’ll call it being super attentive and paranoid. Then he beats up Oscar the owner. The first normal move he made was going back to the station with the CCTV evidence. I call it normal because a scared husband would also do so.

The interview session was hot. I almost went with the officer’s thinking about the life insurance and him staging the kidnapping, but then again, it didn’t sit well.

Moving on.

He takes a picture of the kidnapper, goes back to his in-laws , verifies his identity and even finds his trailer. Wasn’t he just supposed to call back the police officer and inform about the new leads.

What husband without any special training would embark on such a suicide mission with so much confidence. Nobody. Absolutely nobody would try that, but somehow a builder took it upon himself to do so.

Hmm.

He beats the guy up and while I was still trying to put everything together he goes for the main bad guy. That scene with the police officer was good. He then ran through the woods like a guilty man.

Such complication in a simple matter.

As you would expect, he went in there blazing guns and got people killed. The main twist was how we thought she was dead, but she was really alive. That was the plot people. She wasn’t dead after all. Just kidnapped.

He got away with killing some bad guys and maybe their relationship would get better.

My Two Cents

The portrayal of the handy husband was too much. He wasn’t a navy seal or vet, just a builder, and he could do all those crazy fight stunts. The wife was just there. I felt her acting was a bit dull. Gerald was the regular agent from Olympus has Fallen and got his wife back.

It was just there. I watched it for Gerald’s sake. I was happy the wife lived and they might end up together.
