How does Stephen King’s mind work? I just don’t know how he keeps coming up with these ideas.

Quick Recap

When a group of children take matters into their hands and decide to kill off the adults, one high-schooler takes a chance to make things right.

I was really confused watching this and had too many questions.

How did the He Who Walks come about? Has it always been in the corn or is it a result of whatever they were putting in the soil. I also have to mention that I haven’t read the book which may hold some clues to its existence.

Why did the town allow the Sheriff use a deathly gas to try and get one guy and then stop talking about it? Over 10 orphans were collateral damage in their quests to stop a serial killer and no asked questions.

Also, that bit about the reporter. Why did she agree to the interview?

Why were the parents neglectful and harsh to the little ones? I guess I need to read the book because the questions are a lot.

My Thoughts

The movie was just there. I wasn’t terrified at all, though taken aback by the coldness of the Eden and her cult of serial killers. It’s more disturbing than scary. Bo’s brain must have been working sideways when she asked them to gather the parents. What was she thinking would happen when she called a trial? Also, how do you find kids playing with blood and painting the roots of the Corn and still believe they’re sane? And what about our hero who thought he could go up against children. His death was so unnecessary.

How is it that you almost risked your life burning up a field and rather than take off and leave the entire town behind, you went to check out your handiwork.

Summarily, there isn’t an iota of fear in the movie and as a horror movie lover, I wasn’t happy. I read that this will be the 11th remake of this movie. They might as well stop already.
