Movie Review: Blood Sisters Episode 3
We are back, people. Episode 3 is done and dusted.
The girls
The wigs had to go first of course. How can you seriously be on the run and be looking pretty? The girls looked rattled to the core.
Nude Scenes
I’m not an overtly judgy person but I honestly don’t think the nude scenes were necessary, though. I mean the bathroom scene. We know the rehab is strict and all, and that bullying is a sure thing that’ll happen, but we didn’t need to see it that glaringly.
The Burial Scene
What tradition forbids a mother from being at her son’s burial? We all know she had side plans, but that heavy bribing is a red flag.
Oh, Patrick Doyle is here. Nice seeing him on the screen again. Unfortunately, he’s a corrupt IGP.
She needs to bribe the police with dollars to find her son’s killers. Hmm. Not surprised one bit.
Am I happy Kola died, yes.
What I’m not happy about is the people he dragged with him.
Zack Orji makes an appearance.
Ha. Just when I thought I had seen enough legends.
Secrets are out in the open. Kola wasn’t even a legitimate heir to the Ademola throne. Why am I not surprised she cheated on her husband?
The Family
The fact her father was more concerned about the loans and not his daughter was just stressful. That heart attack was already in the making.
We’re now the subject of gossip. Really. You don’t know what gossip is. Finally she apologised for being a neglectful mother. Run, do not let them catch you cause I will not lose you.
Too little too late, don’t you think mum? At least she realised her mistake.
Why does she still have her old sim card?
Kenny The Ex
Love is a serious matter, but so is common sense. I get that she couldn’t fight against her family, but sometimes, no matter how difficult it might be, go with the person you love and loves you back irrespective of their bank account.
Sarah should have just stayed with Ken. Ken is obviously way more handsome, loves her more and doesn’t beat her up.
Awww. Kenny my love. Why didn’t she just stay with him and be happy? Why not chose happiness? Money shouldn’t always be our goal. It’s not everything.
Akin the Best Man
At first, I scuffed at Akin’s response to Kemi’s allegations about Kola. I almost didn’t believe he would have a rethink or even pull a Sherlock Holmes and get to the bottom of the issue.
These are the type of men we need. Those who despite knowing their friend actually tries to look into an alternative.
Kola
The more we get to know Kola the more I hate him. Sarah, Abisioma, Princess. Oh, Princess had it worse. He took her eyes and made her sit through a painting. All those ladies went through hell at his hands.
Now, here’s my concern. Earlier in episode 1 we could see Abisioma begging Kola to take her back. Take her back and do what? Beat her more? Ladies, what exactly is the colour of your problem? A man who beats you and makes you pose decides to marry another lady and instead of thanking God for his grace, you’re asking to be taken back.
I’m tired.
The Bodyguard
Of course, the bodyguard would find them. He’s determined and mean. That beat-up was painful. I felt the punches in my abdominal section as it hit Sarah and Kemi’s stomachs.
Why couldn’t he just die in the fire? Those girls were so off guard. When you’re on the run you stay alert. You keep your phone and money on you for emergency take-off and never lose your guard.
Glad to see they hurt the bodyguard a little. Two against one emerged victoriously.
Why did Kenny through the passports out the window? Why not shove it into your back pants, or on your briefs? I felt he acted too irrationally.
The Family
“You should listen to your wife. She has more sense than you.”
This woman is just impossible. What a mean fellow.
The Detective
Sometimes when you’re very close to someone you’re usually the last person to know about their demons.
No truer words. Chicago was that good cop you find in every bribe-crime rich family story who stands for the truth and sniffs around until he gets himself thrown off the case.
Surprise Cast
I already mentioned Patrick Doyle and Zack Orji.
Denrele Edun my darling. I can’t remember the last time I saw Edun on-screen with his eccentric hairstyles and dress code.
David Jones as a tout. His range is nice. From an inspector in Living in bondage to being a tout in Marina.
The Best Friend
Kemi is a badass. I can’t even believe it. Her thinking and calmness in making bad decisions is something to be studied in psychology. Though, her decisions always pave a way for the girls.
Listening to the best friend recount what the bride did for her touched me. Now I see the loyalty. They’ve been through worse already. What’s the craziest that can happen now?
The Brother
Why take so long to evaluate a picture and then say no? Nahhh. That’s a dull move. I could smell the guilt from afar.
The Strange Samaritan
I didn’t trust the ride one bit. Every hair on my body stood still when they hoped in. It felt too staged. When you’re on the run it’s difficult knowing who to trust and for these girls, I guess they were exhausted.
I don’t trust this guy. And if you tell me you won’t take no for an answer then you better drink two shots at once. No one can ever guilt-trip me into taking what I don’t want to take.
The drink was laced.
Oh, who didn’t see that coming?
Shocker!
